What is the most significant shift AI brings to product design?
We’ve seen many “idea-to-app” tools that quickly generate prototypes — or even full applications. But when a product scales, we still need to carefully define and refine it. So, what does that workflow look like in the era of AI?
Traditionally, mature product teams follow the path of Define → Design → Develop. With AI IDEs, the Develop stage has leapt forward. Yet, in Define and Design, AI is still waiting for its breakthrough. For the future, we see three possibilities:
1. Context as the key.
With more roles contributing ideas, AI needs access to the full team’s context. This creates the opportunity for a new “hub” where definitions and designs converge.
2. The infinite canvas.
A timeless model in design, now poised to be the best medium for human–AI collaboration.
3. AI as the driver.
We often imagine AI as the copilot, but soon, AI will take the driver’s seat — while humans guide and refine.
In this talk, I’ll share our vision for this new workflow and how we’ve begun shaping it into Paraflow, a product designed to help reimagine the future of product design together with you.
