About this Session

In a time when AI can generate boilerplate code in seconds, the true value of a software engineer is shifting. To build products that users love and businesses rely on, writing clean code isn’t enough. You need to understand the full ecosystem of user experience, design strategy, and product goals.

Great products require us to soften the lines between roles. Instead of operating as small, isolated circles of expertise, we must evolve into larger, overlapping gradients. While your core skill remains engineering, your knowledge should radiate outward into design, product, QA. This transforms the team from separate silos into one unified entity of asymmetrically skilled collaborators.

This masterclass is designed for technical professionals who want to elevate their output from delivering features to delivering value. We will explore how engineers can direct their technical expertise toward maximum product impact, moving beyond the IDE (or terminal) to look at how engineering decisions influence user experience, and how AI is rewriting the rules of prototyping and collaboration.

We won’t just look at how to build; we will look at what to build and why.

While the specific tools we discuss will be curated to reflect the state-of-the-art in September, key themes will include:

  • The AI-Augmented Workflow: Leveraging the latest tools to accelerate the loop between code, prototyping, and user feedback.
  • Systemic Design & Architecture: Bridging the gap between Design Systems and code structure to improve team velocity.
  • Organizational Physics: How team structures and "soft" collaboration skills directly impact your code quality and product success.

Note: The content of this masterclass is dynamic. As the tech landscape shifts over the coming year, we will update the curriculum to ensure you are equipped with the most current and effective strategies.

Who is this masterclass for?

First and foremost, this is a session for Software Engineers, Architects, and DevOps Engineers who want to future-proof their careers.

However, it’s equally valuable for anyone with a technical background, such as CTOs or Tech Leads, who want to better understand the intersection of code, user experience, and product strategy. You should attend if you care about quality, cross-functional collaboration, and building the right things, not just building things right.
